Roger Gracie was born September 26th, 1981. He is the son of Reyla Gracie (the daughter of the legendary Gracie Jiu Jitsu founder Carlos Gracie) and Mauricio Gomes, one of the very select few to be awarded a black-belt by the great Rolls Gracie. Needless to say that even before birth, Roger was destined to be immersed in the great family tradition of BJJ.

In fact, many MMA pundits consider the WEC to be the best overall promotion currently running shows. But with the WEC’s sister promotion, the UFC, running the PPV business model, it was only common sense that they would eventually follow suit.
