Despite what was arguably Bellator's biggest fight and biggest show of its sixth season, this past weekend's Bellator 66 event saw a ratings plunge.

The April 20 broadcast averaged just 109,000 MTV2 viewers, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie,com) today confirmed with industry sources. That's down 33 percent from the 163,000 viewers who tuned in for Bellator 65 a week prior.

They go on to mention how the numbers may have been hurt by the fact that the card was also shown on Epix, Spike.com, MMajnukie, and a few other sites. Regardless though those numbers are pathetic, and it's a real shame.

Oof. Gut punch.

The whole format of only being online for Canadians, and being spread out over like 23 different platforms for Americans is definitely hurting them.

Also, UFC being back was the biggest factor, even though the card wasn't till Saturday. Lots of people aren't crazy like some of us and willing to give up their entire weekends to MMA.

Yeah, i just hope that Viacom doesn't lose faith in Bellator before they make the transition to Spike next year.
