So here is the start of my year long training blog that is going to give an insight for you guys of what goes into my training. will cover what techniques,drills,conditioning and diet. so i hope you all enjoy it.

Back to it after xmas, strating early, finishing strong
So after having my longest period off since last xmas a whopping 4 days. was back in the gym this morning for Gi training. Light warm up,lots of drills. Worked alot on a particular sweep and position from open guard. video below first technique been working this the last few weeks and nailing it alot , just fine tweaking little bits and options from this position. repition is the key to good technique afterall. Sparred for 10 mins rounds, did 5 rounds. rolled with my instrutor, 2 blues, 2 white belts. solid workout, got some great tips off my instructor. and worked some new stuff on the other rolls. feeeling good. im fit and strong and working my gameplan. Guard-Sweep-Control-Sub. thats it for today folks. out for a meal with my teamates today. next update tommorow. ossss

Drill,Drill,Drill,Win,Win,Win
10am BJJ session in the gym today. started off with my usal stretching routine. then moved on to ginastica natural(a fluid motion of jiu jitsu movement, stretches and core bilding exercises, eg. capoiera handstand, aligator crawls,forward rolls). today the focus was on taking the back from full guard. using a cross sleave grip and a grip on the tricep pulling the person weight across your body enabling the required room to espcape to the back, drill this and an armbar variation for 30mins, good stuff. then moved on to positional sparring person top passing guard, person the bottom playing their prefferd guard looking to sweep or sub. did this alternating back and forth for 2minute rounds for an hour between us.(now have very sore fingers from open guard haha) so a good session to keep me ticking over till the new year and regular classes start back up. walking around weight is now:82kg taget weight for next comp:78.5kg more tommorow ossss

Back to two a days yeeeaaaaaaah
BJJ again this morning, getting lost of gi work in as the european BJJ championships are my first big comp of the year. have a nogi event the week before just to stay sharp. So this morning had a light stretch and warm up. then went into some technique from open guard. Armd drag to the back and varitions on how the guy defends and turning in either into a sweep or back take. some great little pointers. lots of sparring also with all my best training partners, feeling comfortable and implementing my gameplan well and finishing with subs from all postions. overall euro's prep is going great so far, just getting my weight down now. Current walking around weight:82kg(diet in full swing on jan 1st) will update tonight after muay thai sparring, also try to get a vid up too.

good muay thai session did a quick hour. worked 10mins shadow boxing,3x3 minute rpunds of pads and saparred out the rest of the hour.
stand up is feeling strangley loose and fluid considering ive been concentrating more on BJJ the last month or two. always a good sign. more training in the morning. time waits for no man

Sometimes you have to fight to get to the back though, because they'll manage to get a whizzer on you when you try to take the back. You'll end up in kinda what Bravo calls the "dogfight", where you have an arm across they're back that they're whizzering, and you're both on your knees. Easy solution is just to lean into them, and when they push back limp arm out really quickly and slide around behind them. Just something to play with if you want.
